celebrate black children 2022

Last year, one of our founders, Dr. Vincent D. Willis (author of

Audacious Agitation: The Uncompromising Commitment of Black Youth to Equal Education After Brown), wanted to hold an event to celebrate Black children. This year, TITUS and

Pogue Educational Consulting will help sponsor the event held Juneteenth weekend in Atlanta. While we know you may not be able to come, we encourage you to hold your own event for the children in your community.

In the coming days, TITUS will be creating a toolkit to help you with low-cost ideas for what that may look like in your area. You could have a mini-block party like we will host, or you can have a community read-a-thon, social media hashtag fest, or much more. The idea is to let our children know that our community values them and holds them as valuable members of our world. Further, we want to do this during other Juneteenth celebrations as a way to memorialize the idea that our freedom must be enduring.

Please be on the look out for more information coming soon. In the meantime, feel free to snatch the picture to the left to post on your own social media feeds with the hashtag: #CelebrateBlackChildren2022.
